This is a walk of great interest, scenic beauty and variety. It includes attractive waterside stretches along the banks of the rivers Avon and Frome and the Kennet and Avon Canal, farmland, woodland and superb views over both the Frome and Avon valleys.

We will travel by the 9:25 train from Bristol Temple Meads to Bradford-on-Avon. Please ensure you arrive with enough time to purchase your train tickets.

Bring a packed lunch. After the walk we’ll go to a tea shop.

How do I join the walk?

There is no need to sign up to join a walk, just turn up at the meeting point where we will share lifts to the start of the walk.  You’re very welcome to try out 1 or 2 walks before you join, but we do insist that after that you join the Brunel Walking Group.  It’s OK if you don’t drive – we normally have enough drivers who are able to give lifts, but drivers often appreciate it when a voluntary contribution is made by passengers towards their costs.

How do I know what to bring? And am I fit enough?

We provide a full recommended kit list here.  Please do bring water, a rainproof jacket, walking trousers (or similar) and walking shoes/boots – avoid jeans and trainers.
