**postponed** 09:00 2 Boot: Southern Quantock Hills (20s & 30s)

Event Date: Sun 18 March 2018
Event Time: 09:00

11 miles

This is a particularly hilly walk that will provide both challenge and reward with plenty of views. After an initial climb to warm us up we will make our way along the bottom of the hills via woodland tracks and fields to the village of Cothelstone. The ascent up Cothelstone Hill is long however you will be rewarded with spectacular views from the top (if the cloud hasn’t come down!). There is then a more gradual ascent over Lydeard Hill and up to Will’s Neck, the highest point in the Quantocks, before we descend back into Crowcombe.

Bring a packed lunch. Pub to finish.

Walk Leader: Jenny N (07933 041775)

Meet: 09:00 at St Mary Redcliffe

Alternatively meet at 10:20 at Crowcombe Village Car Park, TA4 4AR
Please contact the walk leader if you will be meeting them there.

About Brunel Walking Group

Thanks for visiting us! Brunel Walking Group is for young(ish) people in the Bristol and Bath area who love the countryside and like to get outside on a weekend.

What is Brunel Walking Group?

Brunel is a thriving group with more than 400 members. All of our walk leaders and committee members are volunteers, dedicated to sharing our fantastic countryside with others.  Read more on our FAQs page

How do I join the walk?

There is no need to sign up to join a walk, just turn up at the meeting point where we will share lifts to the start of the walk.  You’re very welcome to try out 1 or 2 walks before you join, but we do insist that after that you join the Brunel Walking Group.  It’s OK if you don’t drive – we normally have enough drivers who are able to give lifts, but drivers often appreciate it when a voluntary contribution is made by passengers towards their costs.

How do I know what to bring? And am I fit enough?

We provide a full recommended kit list here.  Please do bring water, a rainproof jacket, walking trousers (or similar) and walking shoes/boots – avoid jeans and trainers.

Walks are graded as either 1 boot, 2 boot or 3 boot.  Read more about choosing the right walk for your fitness level here,
