08:45 2 Boot: Ham Hill Circular (20s & 30s)

Event Date: Sun 30 September 2018
Event Time: 08:45

12 miles

From Ham Hill Country Park we will loop through a number of villages via fields, tracks and woodland paths. We will take a minor diversion through Montacute Park in order to pass by Montacute House, an Elizabethan mansion. This walk is fairly easy going with the exception of one very steep, but mercifully very short, climb up St Michael’s Hill; if the weather is clear there are fine views from here with the option of climbing the tower for a better vantage point.

Bring a packed lunch. Pub to finish.

Walk Leader: Jenny N (07933041775)

Meet: 08:45 at the Water Tower (Clifton)

Alternatively meet at 10:00 at Ham Hill Country Park, Stoke-sub-Hamdon, TA14 6RW

Please contact the walk leader if you are going directly to the alternative meeting point.

About Brunel Walking Group

Thanks for visiting us! Brunel Walking Group is for young(ish) people in the Bristol and Bath area who love the countryside and like to get outside on a weekend.

What is Brunel Walking Group?

Brunel is a thriving group with more than 400 members. All of our walk leaders and committee members are volunteers, dedicated to sharing our fantastic countryside with others.  Read more on our FAQs page

How do I join the walk?

There is no need to sign up to join a walk, just turn up at the meeting point where we will share lifts to the start of the walk.  You’re very welcome to try out 1 or 2 walks before you join, but we do insist that after that you join the Brunel Walking Group.  It’s OK if you don’t drive – we normally have enough drivers who are able to give lifts, but drivers often appreciate it when a voluntary contribution is made by passengers towards their costs.

How do I know what to bring? And am I fit enough?

We provide a full recommended kit list here.  Please do bring water, a rainproof jacket, walking trousers (or similar) and walking shoes/boots – avoid jeans and trainers.

Walks are graded as either 1 boot, 2 boot or 3 boot.  Read more about choosing the right walk for your fitness level here,
