8:00 3 Boot: The Two Darts (Joint Walk)

Event Date: Sat 14 July 2018
Event Time: 08:00 am

14 miles

Starting by the East Dart at Postbridge, the walk first heads south through Bellever Woods to Bellever Tor.  We then continue south to meet the West Dart for the first time at Hexworthy.  It then turns west past some disused tin mines and cross back over the West Dart at Two Bridges. We then head north past the ancient oaks of Wistmans Wood. Finally we climb to Longaford Tor, Higher White Tor and Lower White Tor before heading back to Postbridge.

There’s only 600m of climbing on the route and it follows mostly good tracks, but as it’s Dartmoor expect some wet sections.

Bring a packed lunch.  Pub to finish.

Walk Leader: Matt T (07754 497243)

Meet: 8:00am at The Water Tower (Clifton)

Alternatively meet at 10:00 at Postbridge
Please contact the walk leader if you will be meeting them there.

About Brunel Walking Group

Thanks for visiting us! Brunel Walking Group is for young(ish) people in the Bristol and Bath area who love the countryside and like to get outside on a weekend.

What is Brunel Walking Group?

Brunel is a thriving group with more than 400 members. All of our walk leaders and committee members are volunteers, dedicated to sharing our fantastic countryside with others.  Read more on our FAQs page

How do I join the walk?

There is no need to sign up to join a walk, just turn up at the meeting point where we will share lifts to the start of the walk.  You’re very welcome to try out 1 or 2 walks before you join, but we do insist that after that you join the Brunel Walking Group.  It’s OK if you don’t drive – we normally have enough drivers who are able to give lifts, but drivers often appreciate it when a voluntary contribution is made by passengers towards their costs.

How do I know what to bring? And am I fit enough?

We provide a full recommended kit list here.  Please do bring water, a rainproof jacket, walking trousers (or similar) and walking shoes/boots – avoid jeans and trainers.

Walks are graded as either 1 boot, 2 boot or 3 boot.  Read more about choosing the right walk for your fitness level here,
