08:00 2 Boot: The Gower ft Rhossili Bay (20s & 30s)

Starts along Rhossili Beach, famous for a filming location in a Lloyds Bank advert and claims to be one of the best beaches in Wales. We will see a shipwreck and cover a large section of the Wales Coast Path where we will also see Broughton Bay and Whiteford Sands which is home to a Nature Reserve. After that, we will head inland slightly where we will ascend Llanmadoc Hill (186 Metres) before rejoining the Coast Path back to Rhossili. Most of the walk will be relatively flat. Finish walk in Pub overlooking Rhossili Bay. £4 for Car Park (Free to National Trust Members).

Bring a packed lunch. Pub to finish.

How do I join the walk?

There is no need to sign up to join a walk, just turn up at the meeting point where we will share lifts to the start of the walk.  You’re very welcome to try out 1 or 2 walks before you join, but we do insist that after that you join the Brunel Walking Group.  It’s OK if you don’t drive – we normally have enough drivers who are able to give lifts, but drivers often appreciate it when a voluntary contribution is made by passengers towards their costs.

How do I know what to bring? And am I fit enough?

We provide a full recommended kit list here.  Please do bring water, a rainproof jacket, walking trousers (or similar) and walking shoes/boots – avoid jeans and trainers.

Walks are graded as either 1 boot, 2 boot or 3 boot.  Read more about choosing the right walk for your fitness level here,
