Cinema Night at the Watershed: "Lourdes"
"Christine is a young woman confined to a wheelchair as a result of MS. Lonely, she feigns piousness so she can go on church trips with much needed company. When her group make a pilgrimage to Lourdes, Christine wakes one morning seemingly cured by a miracle that provokes both envy and wonder: what is a miracle exactly? Why Christine? It is this curiosity about miracles, faith and the human spirit that makes Lourdes such a beguiling, delicately handled pleasure. Something between a religious satire and a redemption story, this is a respectful, gently humourous celebration of all forms of belief” (Cert: U; Austria/France/Germany; 96 mins; subtitled).
Host: Philip T 0117 969 1395
Meet: in the Watershed bar from 7.45pm for the film at 8.30 pm. Let Philip (0117 969 1395) know by the Monday if you’d like him to get you a ticket, or get your own and meet in the bar.
